Advocate Jacob Mudenda re-elected Speaker of the National Assembly

Advocate Jacob Mudenda was yesterday re-elected and sworn in as the Speaker of the National Assembly after garnering 179 votes beating Ms Paurina Mpariwa  of the MDC- Alliance who got 79votes.

Cde Tsitsi Gezi of Zanu PF was also elected Deputy Speaker after beating Mr Sesel Zwizwai for the MDC Alliance.

In Senate, Cde Marble Chinomona was elected president of the Senate after beating Mr Morgan Komichi of the MDC Alliance by 52 votes to 22.

The processes were overseen by the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) as mandated by the Parliament rules and regulations procedures.
