Africa University to hold public lectures on environment and climate change

An Environmental Advocate says although black Africans have always lived in  harmony with nature, urbanization and a rise in population are having an effect on communities ability to maintain a healthy relation with the environment.

Speaking to Diamond FM on the sidelines of a Black History Month Commemoration Lecture  at Africa University, Mrs Zanele Furusa  added that the activities associated with modernization are contributing to the  destruction of forests and rivers.

Mrs Furusa also revealed that Africa University will soon hold Public Lectures on climate change.

The Ministry of Water, Environment and Climate's  Environment Ambassador Derick Mpofu also attended the black history month commemoration lecture which was held under the theme " Environment and Culture".
