Government has expressed satisfaction with the ongoing cholera vaccination campaign, a
secondary intervention to prevent future outbreaks after the disease was put
under control.
Director of Epidemiology and Disease
Control in the Health and Child Care Ministry, Dr Portia Manangazira, said over
15 percent of the ministry's target has already been vaccinated.
She
added that Government officials leading the fight against cholera have shown their
support by also getting vaccinated.
Meanwhile
Government has intensified enforcement of health safety regulations that will
see strict adherence to annual medical examinations for all food handlers and
testing of export and import foodstuffs.
