Zanu PF Women's League chairperson for Manicaland, Cde Happiness Nyakuedzwa has expressed concern over low numbers of women who were elected to represent the party in the forthcoming elections, saying the status quo is not inline with the 50\50 proportions of female to male representation in parliament.

Speaking to Diamond FM from the on-going Zanu PF healing and reconciliation workshop being held in Harare, Cde Nyakuedzwa said the workshop needs to go beyond party structures to the electorate as they also need to reconcile amongst themselves.

She however indicated that they will continue to advocate for more women in positions of power and hope that this will be reflected and implemented in the party.

Cde Nyakuedzwa who was contesting to represent Zanu PF in the Makoni South Constituency lost to Misheck Mataranyika in the party’s primary election last month.
