MANICA Diamonds' midfield genius Last 'Lala' Jesi has joined African giants Al Hilal of Sudan in a dream transfer move for the Sakubva born player.
Jesi, who was on a season loan at FC Platinum at the time he was spotted by the Sudanesse giants, is a rare talent whose breathtaking passing accuracy and ball control, reminiscent of legendary Ronald 'Gidiza' Sibanda, kept fans on the edge of the seats each time he was in action at Vengere Stadium in Rusape during Manica Diamonds home matches.
"it's a great pleasure and a great experience for a team that has played only one season in the Premiership to nurture a player of Last Jesi' calibre. No one in his or her normal sense would resist the talent and skill and the talent that the midfielder exhibits. He has a long way to go. Playing outside Zimbabwe will provide the necessary platform and environment for him to reach greater heights," said Manica Diamonds chairman Masimba Chihowa.
Chihowa said: "The sale suits well the goals of Manica Diamonds and the parent sponsor ZCDC of identifying, nurturing and promoting talent from Manicaland and Zimbabwe as a whole.
"The sale definetely inspires some of the players that we have in Manica Diamonds football team that have a lot of skill and experience. Last got his chance and utilised it. Who knows, it might be their chance next. The Sudannese club got interested in Last Jesi when they watched him play in FC Platinum colours and we started negotiations with them last month, we concluded this week," the Mutare-based Chancellor Junior school head said.
