Several pharmaceutical shops in Mutare have increased the price of medicines  by more than 60 percent with some only accepting US dollar payments.

Pharmacists who spoke to Diamond FM say they last received supplies three weeks ago and have adjusted their prices in speculation of price increases.

However a few pharmacies are still accepting medical aid prescriptions.

Mr. Michael Hamadziripi of Arcadia Pharmacy said they have not hiked their stock and were accepting all forms of payment.
