The second suspected case of coronavirus (Covid-19) in Zimbabwe has tested negative.
The first case involved a 27-year-old Harare woman two weeks ago who was suspected to have contracted the disease after visiting Wuhan province in China.
This time a 32-year old male Chinese national is under isolation at Wilkins hospital in Harare after being flagged for the virus at Robert Gabriel Mugabe international airport over the weekend. He was travelling from Wuhan province in China.
Harare City Council Health Services director Dr Prosper Chonzi says the results of the test conducted on the patient came out negative last night but samples have been sent to South Africa for further corroboration.
He added that the patient will remain in isolation.
