Takaringofa favourite to land Tenax job

By Sport Reporter

Former Mutare City Rovers head coach Joseph ‘Shabba’ Takaringofa is the favourite to become the head coach of newly promoted PSL side Tenax.

Takaringofa who holds a CAF A licence was among several candidates who were interviewed by Tenax on Tuesday.

Green Fuel coach Chasten Ndongonda, former Buffaloes coach Shadreck Mugurasave and Deportivo La Sakubva president Frank Muhala were also interviewed by the Tenax executive although none of them have a CAF A licence, a requirement for head coaches in the top flight PSL.

Takaringofa who had a short stint with Mutare City Rovers two seasons ago is the most qualified candidate to get the Tenax job as he is a holder of a CAF A licence.

Should he get the job Takaringofa will most likely work with Blessing Madombi as the Tenax executive are keen to retain Madombi’s services despite him not being a holder of CAF A licence.

Madombi led Tenax to promotion from the ZIFA eastern region division one.

Tenax are expected to announce the successful candidate in the coming days.
