Team Manicaland goes into camp ahead of 2018 National Youth and Paralympic games

Manicaland is expected to have one of the biggest teams at the 2018 National Youth and Paralympic games which start in Gweru next week.

 

Over 700 athletes are expected to represent Manicaland at the games with 467 coming from our primary and secondary schools while 300 will come from the community club system.

 

Athletes in the Under 13 and Under 18 categories will start trooping into camp  this Friday  ahead of the teams departure next Tuesday.

 

The Under13 boys and girls will be camping at Chancellor Primary school while Under 18 boys and Under 18 girls will camp at Mutare Boys High School and Mutare Girls High School respectively.

 

The Under 13 and Under 18 games will take place from the 15th -20th of August

 

In a first for the games the Under23 category of the national youth games will then run concurrently with the Paralympics from the 22nd-28th August.

 

This year's games which will also include nine virtual provinces comprised of teams from the uniformed forces and tertiary institutions.
