targeting an unprecedented league and cup double when they began their defence
of the Zimbabwe Consolidated Diamond Company (ZCDC) Diamond Super Cup this
Saturday.

recently sealed promotion to next season’s Premier Soccer League as eastern
region champions are the current holders of the ZCDC Diamond Super Cup beating
Green Fuel 1-0 in last year’s final.
The draw for
this year’s edition of the ZCDC Diamond Super Cup was held on Thursday at the
ZIFA Manicaland offices. Only the top four teams from the just ended ZIFA eastern
region division one season take part in the cup tournament.
Tenax will

be played this Saturday at 3pm.
The winners
from the semi finals will meet in the final to be played on Saturday 7 December
2019 at a venue yet to be announced.
Tenax coach
Blessing Madombi told Diamond Sport that his team is targeting an unprecedented
double after his team won the ZIFA Eastern region title last week.
“We are
looking to end the 2019 season in style. We have already made history by sealing
promotion to the PSL as ZIFA eastern region champions and winning the Diamond
Super Cup will be a perfect end to the season.
Last season
Manica Diamonds failed to complete the league and cup double so it will be a
special achievement for us to make history as the the first team to do so.
Confidence
is very high in our camp and we know our semi final opponents FC Makaha very
well so we will be more than prepared for that game.” He said
This years
ZCDC Diamond Super Cup is being sponsored to the tune of $140 000.
The winners
will pocket $ZWL 40000, runners up $ZWL 30000 while the losing semi finalist
