The refurbishment of Mutare Infectious Disease Hospital is expected to be complete soon, despite the process having been affected by the outbreak of cholera in the past months. Speaking to Diamond FM Mutare City Council Acting Director of Health Services Mrs Eunice Muyambuki said they have engaged the Ministry of Health and Child Care to assist in the completion of the project since procurement of materials is still in progress. When complete, the project is expected to ease tuberculosis, hypertension, and diabetes patients’ access to medical services. The Ministry of Health and Child Care took over the construction and running of the hospital to accelerate the rehabilitation of the unit.
