At least 320 small scale farmers in ward 16 Chimanimani district are set to venture into commercial groundnuts and wheat farming. Zimbabwe Farmers Union District Chairperson Shingirai Mafake said following the demand for wheat and groundnuts on local markets most farmers have opted to plant the crops as this may create opportunities for export market and bring in the much needed foreign currency to boost their farming activities. He further emphasized the need for farmers to receive training from local Agritex officers to enhance their skills.
