Farmers in ward 8 Headlands have ventured into borehole construction at their farms for irrigation. Ward Councillor Movern Tichawana said they have engaged borehole drilling companies and to date 10 farmers have taken up this initiative with all of them having boreholes that are between 40 and 70 meters highlighting that it will aid in addressing issues of inadequate rainfall. He added that more farmers are expected to join the borehole drilling program as they have confirmed interests and are waiting to harvest their produce with most of them doing tobacco farming.
