Collaborative engagements between local authorities and informal traders have been describe as one of the various ways towards formalization of informal economic operators. Speaking during the Formalization strategy validation meeting for Manicaland and Masvingo provinces held in Mutare recently, Labour and Economic Development Research Institute of Zimbabwe Economist, Clinton Musonza also said formulation of synergies among the informal traders and registering them as organizations was another way of formalizing the traders. He further said formalization will ensure informal traders contribute towards the national fiscas which will in turn result in development of decent working conditions for informal traders.
