At least 66 farmers in Ward 7 Makoni district are receiving training on Apiculture with assistance from a local organization aimed at promoting production of quality honey for local and international markets. Africa Ahead Country Director Mr Regis Matimati says the program; which is being done at a tune of US$25 000 will run for a year with farmers having already received 154 beehives among other equipment to kick start the project. Bee-keeping is set to grow significantly in the country following measures that have been put in place to improve investments in bee products for export markets.
