Sugar bean farmers across the province have been urged to use preservative chemicals on their produce to curb postharvest losses amid low uptake the produce during this marketing. Local Agronomist Clemence Mucharedzeyi said flooding of the produce has resulted in the low prices with which the produce is being bought, resulting in farmers in the Chipinge low veld making losses. He further encouraged farmers to plant other vegetables like cabbages that will give them money as they will be waiting for their other crops to ripen.
