A 45-year-old haulage truck driver died last night after he failed to negotiate a curve at Christmas-pass road, veered off from his lane and overturned in the lane for oncoming traffic. Manicaland Police Spokesperson Inspector Nobert Muzondo confirmed the incident saying Mutare Traffic Police attended the scene and retrieved the now deceased Edwin Kapondoro’s fractured body from the vehicle and took it to Victoria Chitepo Hospital where he was pronounced dead upon arrival. While an upward trend on accidents involving haulage trucks on Chrismas-pass road continues to be a cause for concern, Mutare residents are now fearful of using the road.
