The Ministry of Health and Child Care has urged the people in Manicaland to continue exercising caution against malaria amid a transition from summer to the winter season. Manicaland Provincial Medical Director Dr Munyaradzi Mukuzunga said the weather which is still warm is favorable for mosquito breeding, highlighting that the malaria season will be completely over only when the temperatures go down. Meanwhile, to date 20 people have been reported dead due to malaria in Manicaland with Chipinge district being the hotspot for the disease.
