Maunganidze Irrigation Scheme small-scale farmers have appealed for more planting machinery as preparations for the 2023/24 summer cropping season begin. Maunganidze Irrigation Scheme chairperson, Mr. Lovemore Muboko says in order to promote good agronomic practices they need to have adequate machinery for farmers to produce enough for their own consumption and for commercial purposes. Maunganidze is one of the largest irrigation schemes in Chipinge and was heavily affected by Cyclone Idai, which destroyed its pumps, perimeter fence, and water canals.
