Provincial Agritex officer Mrs Philipa Rwambiva has urged farmers in Manicaland to start investing in irrigation to sustain their agribusiness as the province continues to experience dry spells and erratic rainfall patterns. In an interview Mrs Rwambiwa said irrigation schemes will aid farmers to adapt to climate change effects and variabilities. Meanwhile the government is implementing the smallholder irrigation revitalisation programme as a long-term plan to adapt to climate change effects.
